Literacy Impacts Everyone!

Growing up with parents and sisters who read aloud to me, being a lifelong writer, a literacy educator of 22 years, and a mother of two, it is now an honor and a privilege to join the Board of Washtenaw Literacy. Supporting literacy in our community is a natural and joyful role for me.
During my time teaching English Language Arts to middle and high schoolers, teaching preservice English teachers at MSU, and serving as a K-12 Literacy Consultant, I'm now in my ninth year as Coordinator of Instruction for Literacy at Washtenaw Intermediate School District. It is in this position that I structure literacy coaching and design professional learning networks for teachers across Washtenaw County. Supporting literacy is my life and livelihood and I believe everyone has a right to literacy education throughout their lives.
