Literacy Matters

Hi all,

I love books. My life has been shaped by so many wonderful books and I can't imagine my life without being able to read. I take it for granted that I can read and effectively communicate through writing.

But there are about 27,000 people in Washtenaw County who can't. They read below an 8th grade level and struggle everyday. Without being able to read and communicate, their lives are much more difficult. Reading opens doors, opens worlds and enriches lives. I feel strongly that an educated population is critical for thriving community.

That's why I created a fundraiser to benefit Washtenaw Literacy, and an organization that I personally support.
